MASTER FILLETER AWARD
REGISTERED FILLET MASTERS
Master Filleter Award Certificates are given to participants of Fillet King official filleting events who perform to event standards in percentage of yield.  Percentage of yield is determined by the fillet weight compared against total fish weight measured to the 1000th of a pound. Typical minimum standards for certification are from 30 to 33% yield for boneless, skinless, fillets of blue gill.
Variations in events depends on fish species and fish count. Events are not speed trials but strictly quality related.  However, maximum allowable time limits are enforced.

Event winning yields are typically in the 36% to 38% range.

All certificate award contestants are entered into the Master Filleters Registration Log kept at Fillet King Headquarters and are provided an identification card to prove membership status and membership number.
GRAND MASTER AWARD
GRAND MASTER AWARD status is reserved for event winners of Official Fillet King Filleting Events.  Winners receive a Trophy and Grand Master Certificate, Grand Master registration card, and their photo is published on this web site.
